Distributor rotor retaining screw - Need Help
They like to get seized up from the heat, and when you try and turn them thet strip like they are made of butter. I wish Honda made them like the dist cap screws (i.e. screw with bolt outside).
Anyways, if you DO manage to strip it, don't fret. Grab it with Vice grips and it should come right off (of course you'll have to replace the screw since the Vice grips will tear it up pretty bad).
Another method that works (I've done it 3 or 4 times on stubborn retaining screws) is take a Dremel with cutting disc and cut a nice deep notch in the screw (to make it like a flathead). Then take a big meaty flathead screwdriver and it will get it out no prob.
The second method works so well that I reuse the same notched screw, and just use the flathead every time. Why replace the crappy screw with another crappy screw that's just gonna do the same thing?
Good luck.
