so i think ma tranny is pretty much wanting to take a dump on me...it grinds 2nd when i speed shift and some times it doesn't even go in..as far as i know its an ex tranny..it has a new clutch btw..so what sohc tranny is good?

 

si/ex= short gears
lx/dx/cx= long gears
if your car is a daily driver just get any of them

 

96-00 ex has a stronger shift fork.

 

Y8 trannies FTW!!!! But who could turn down a Z6 tranny with ZC 3-4 gear sets?????

Check your motor mounts before concluding your tranny is shitting on you. Then if those all check out ok then go to the next step.

 

The HX has THE longest gears..

But I know this guy in the 7th gen section who's done all sorts of testing on every single trans available for our cars (stock of course), and he swears up down left and right that the shorter the gears, the better the mileage in the city AND the highway on these cars. Though, my argument is since the HX is one of the most efficient hondas, and it DOES have the longest transmission gears ever.. there MUST be some sort of co-relation.

 

I'd go with the si/ex tranny... i think its better on SOHC motors

get the JDM ZC tranny, 4.43 final drive, it's a cable so you'd have to do a hydro to cable conversion on it...

you guys are forgetting.. the Si trannies wont fit a single cam. They are all made for dual cams.

 

Im pretty sure they are talking about 92-95 Si's.
