Default SRS Light??

I recently bought a cluster from a 97 EX Civic to put in my DX to have a tach. After installing the new cluster everthing works, but the SRS light will not turn off. I don't think anything is wrong with SRS, but i'm not positive. I heard from on of my friends that you could reset the light or something. Does anyone know how i can get the light to turn off?

Is there any other way to get it to turn off without having to pull out the bulb?

unplug the yellow plug behind the gauge cluster. but tape up the opening with electrical tape cause static could cause the airbags to blow.

idk what that is? We have a quick release steering wheel, so that's probably why the lights on. That's how we got the car

Right you are!

Put the stock steering wheel back on if its a daily! those aftermarket ones are a death trap.

OMG, you bumped a 20 year old dead thread !!! Proper Forum etiquette would be to create your own thread. Now stop posting and go and try either unplugging the yellow plug on the back of the instrument cluster or remove the bulb socket from the "SRS" location. Before you put everything back together, you can leave the instrument cluster plugged in and laying in the dash opening and turn the key on and test to see if what you tried solved the issue. If not, try the other option and re-test.

You have the "SRS" light because the vehicle no longer has an airbag attached to the steering wheel... you have an aftermarket steering wheel.

Where are the mods to police this kind of stuff? In other forums I'm on, necro-bumped threads (anything revived after X months by anyone besides the OP) are locked by the mods so they eventually sink to the bottom. If the OP wants one of their ancient threads unlocked so it can be updated, they can reach out to the mods to have it unlocked.
