Well my tranny on my 96 civic slips 1st, sometimes does not go into 4th and does not go into reverse.
so yes its a POS!
its automatic by the way.

well after some searching around, i found some1 that is selling a "d16y8 tranny" for $120.

can any1 tell me how to identify this tranny to see if it really is a Ex tranny?

and yes i have searched. but the ones that i found either:
were for 5 speed trannys and NOT auto
and
did not show nor specify on HOW to locate the numbers/letters where it tells you

How can u tell if I know anything or not!? If U are so smart, then Y dont you try running the vin number on the tranny to see what original Chasis it came from u douche!!

 

i agree.. if youre gonna come and ask for help, at least be polite.. its just an automatic tranny for god sake! where it matters what tranny it is on manual trannies..

dude you should calm down with all the noob calling and ricer naming.... AND THE NUMBER YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IS M4RA ... if its not on the tranny you are gonna have to ask for vin number just the like the "ricer/noob" said so you can run it on majestic honda or elsewhere online and see what it really came off.... hope this resolves your issue

 

the thing is that it is HIGHLY unlikely that i will drive ALL the way to anahaim from fontana, get the vin, drive back to fontana to use my computer and drive back to anahaim just to drive back to fontana.
and yes i know i can use a public computer but i do NOT know the city which intern means that i do not know where i can go to use a comp.
and thats IF majestic honda is not blocked.
