i have a fully built and boosted 2000 civic si b16a2.
only thing i didnt modify was the tranny and now its junk.
my question is which would be the best tranny to upgrade to for boost?

 

longer gears = higher speed, while shorter gears = quicker acceleration.. see what suits you... LS tranny has the longest gear, GS-R is shorter and you can get a jdm one with LSD, B16 is even shorter, and then there's the Type-R trannies that come with LSD from factory...

 

i had the b16 tranny and the gears were a little short but definitely fun

dude with boost u want the longest gear possible IMO thats how its allways been with vrt's

 

^Not in the honda world. With boost shorter gears are the best.

 

gsr, cause you also have the choice to get lsd!

 

what kind of numbers are you putting down? if your sub 300hp, id buy an LSD and install it into an SI tranny with an LS 5th gear. If your over 300hp maybe look into an ls tranny

 

Boosted?? I would go with the LS!
