Ok as best as possible i will explain what im trying to do.

I understand that the 96-00 Civic Hx and Ex share the same head castings but use different valvetrain. I have my running d16y5 (HX) motor and on the side i have a complete EX head. i dont want to swap out the heads since the heads are the same and no maintenance is needed on the running y5. SO.......

has anyone simply just swapped out the valvetrain from an EX head (LMAs and holder, rocker arms and cam) and into an HX, converting it into a normal VTEC head as opposed to a VTEC-E? Any useful info would be very much appreciated.

 

i also have a d16y5 and was wondering the same thing, any help?
