I'm not trying to be rude, but there is a search option in H-T that is quite helpful for matter such as this. It's a loaded question to begin with, because there is room for opinions. Here is how I will answer this question...

I have a mugen twinloop exh. I like it. It makes a nice low rumble sound as the car warms up but is not buzzy. Does it gain HP on a dyno? I have seen good results, although I have not dyno'd my car with it yet, since I just put it in on Friday.

Whats the best exhaust for a "2000 ITR"? I dunno, but get some pipes and a muffler weld them up and BAM! You have a exhaust.

Sorry.. I never think to use the search function. I always think it would be better to get some fresh opinions from people. I'm not really new here.. I used to have an account about a year ago, but I lost my info (and I think my account) after I sold my Geeser Sedan.

I have the Apex'i N1 catback on my 00 R. I'm totally happy with it. Nice sound and look.

Here's a pic of it on my R:

P.S. Don't mind all the dirt and shiat on the underside.

hows the dc sports exhaust
I am actually a big fan of DC Sports. I have almost every product they make on my Civic. As for the R, it actually had the DC Cat Back on it when I bought it. I like it, but.. I REALLY like the Mugen Twin Loop. If I were to buy another DC (for the R), I'd buy the Twin Canister. I had both on my Civic, and the Twin Canister is a bit quiter, but has a better (deeper) tone. If that makes since.. If you want, I can take some pics of it for you..

for stock r? stick with stock exhaust

do other mods first, like filter/header/cat

if you have these 3 replaced, and ready do cams/tuning - then get exhaust, mandrel bent.. 2.5 ss

Totally understandable. The search really keeps things documented nicely (currect/archived), so you'll always be able to find current topics. Just wait until the "what winter tires should I get" threads come out. Never fails...if its open for opinion, your going to get a lot of answers. Welcome back...

Having the engine stock, a good choice is to eliminate the two bottlenecks out of the stock B pipe.

Here's a pic of the mugen twin-loop on the ITR i'm buying:

[edit]argh damn sun ruined the pic
- oh ya the exhaust is great......1-3xxx rpm very stock sounding, passed 4000rpm it sounds great, real sounding exhaust, not some rice sound. Once the car gets in the vtec range it screams [/edit]
