Question bout gear box..?
What up's everyone? I'm new to the Moto world..Just got me a 2002 Suzuki sv650s..Question if anyone has had this problem..I don't think my gear box likes me and its not a user issue. When I am coming to a stop and i start the procedure of downshifting sometimes it will take me down to netrual position but will not want to go back into first even when im stopped..I pull in the clutch try to put it into first and no go, just the neutral light keeps on..Yes, i know about rolling your bike back to get it to go into first (sometimes) but damn it feels like it all the time..Constantly having to roll back, and keep messin to get this to go into gear..I haven't had enough experience to know if this is sorta normal or not so hook me up with some input..Does anyone else have this problem and what to do about it? Clutch adj?? or what? Clutch does feel fine though..Help? Oh ya, is it also kind of normal to have ur exhaust pipe tick a little bit when it is brand new..Bike has like 260 miles on it..Thanks guys
Gearbox woes are fairly common on brand-new bikes...give it some mileage to break in. As for downshifting, you should be downshifting as you approach the stop, not coasting in, then trying to downshift 3-5 gears at once. Also, rolling back is not necessary, just let the clutch out a TINY bit, pull it back in, and try again. Sometimes you have to spin things inside the tranny to get 'em all lined up.
Stick with it...your bike is nowhere near broken in yet, and should feel really nice by about 2500 miles or so

Great Thanks!! Thats kinda what i thought since its brand new..And that makes sense..Thinking there is no need to jump the gun yet..Damn, when will 2,500 miles ever get here..I really want to see the potential of this v-twin...Any hoo, thanks for the input
