(Newbie here) Prelude h23 motor heats up quick
I dont know whats wrong, but when i drive around town for like a couple of minutes it heats up pretty quick? Do any of you know what it could possibly be??
Your description of "real hot" might not be that hot to me. What are you measuring heat with ? .. Your palm against your valve cover ? ..You need an accurate way and getting an aftermarket coolant temperature sensor + gauge will tell you the truth.
Yeah i noticed something similar when i first got my prelude... the engine bay seems to get a lot warmer, a lot faster than my other cars. This is just normal for these cars. As long as your dash gauge isn't showing any issues with overheating, then you're fine.
If you're still worried about it, get an aftermarket sensor/gauge setup and verify the readings against what they should be.

well you know how the prelude gauge is digital, Once i run my car for like 3 min it goes to the middle block and i can feel heat from where the pedals are.... iono if its a serious issue or not, but im just curious... from what people have told me its common for this model and motor...
The middle of the gauge is correct operating temperature. The warm air around your feet is from having your A/C on vent instead of recycle.
