So, tonite, i went out and decided to see how well my worn engine (2000+ race miles on it) would do. the best ever is the 14.90@94mph... tonite, my best was a crappy 15.20@92mph with 2.4 60 footers on V700s (i can't launch the car)

As some of you know, i have a big "Drag Racing Sucks" sticker on the back of my car so that idiots stop trying to street race me when i'm traveling between tracks (maybe i need "Street Racing Sucks"). At a local autocross, some goofy kid saw this.

Well, this same goofy kid was at the drag strip tonite and has a hideous ricey CRX (altezzas, unpainted body kit, SiR badge)... but a quick CRX nevertheless (running 13.50s).

Lo and behold, this kid wants to race me. no problem, he was further up the line and i wanted to leave after being there for 4hrs and getting a whopping 4 runs.

We race and naturally, the ricer beats me (due to the fact he's turboed and gutted and i'm NA, gutted, and on autocross alignment)...here's the part that pisses me off:

The little kid has the nerve to toss his hazards on ON A DRAG STRIP. It's not like we were street racing! I lost 2 of my 4 runs tonite and have no quams about losing, just not to some cocky jackass who just wanted to prove his car is faster than mine.

Back in the pits, i ask him what the deal was and if he wanted to road race for $1000...he's quick to backdown and tosses some crazy "$1000 to road race, but $2000 to drag race".

Then i offered this challenge (which he also backs down):
- two races.. autocross/road race and a drag race.
- combine the times from the two events....lowest wins
- winner gets $1000.

he backs down saying he has bad brakes and it's a "Drag car" (drag cars do 13s? thought they were faster). Go figure. he easily had me by 2 seconds in a drag race, so i would have to make up 2 seconds either on a road course or an autocross and he backed down.


bottom line: I woulda been ok if he hadn't been an *** and tossed his hazards...considering he has a 13sec car vs my 15sec car.

well you win some and lose some.......

Plus has a added fact the one thing many people fail to see, is this scene plain and simple would not exist without street racing. It may not be a good thing, but it exists, and i do have respect for it because it is what causes more people to buy all these variety of parts. Without customers no one would sell, and I know for a fact for every 10 track racers theres probobley 30 street racers, many of which do both.

haha that sucks.. in my drag car i left the wiring for one taillight but both hazards not for competition as i work prob get in trouble but i kept them for grudge nights and tt when i go against turbo cars and mustangs

 

don't let these idiots get to you....they're everywhere nowadays.

I was out at the local street races last night and i saw 5 CRX's running over and over again, 2 of which i know could beat me but every one was TRASH. trashy drivers with passengers holding 40's and otherwise ugly *** cars, unpainted cracked scraping the ground kits and multicolor'd everything.

All i can say is, i'm a hell of alot smarter and my car looks good. I got em all beat.

Why you stressing this guy...He beat you and your'e a sore loser...Who cares about his hazards, he beat you and thats what he does when he wins...These guys are a dime a dozen...Don't stress this guy as there are plenty more where he comes from...13's is quick and thats that...nuff said...the guy won and he was rubbing it in...thats not good sportsmanship, but you said yourself that hes a clown...so, stick with what your car is setup for and thats that...I drive an Impreza RS and will smoke a Z06 or Type R around a corner but they will eat me up in the quarter...No big deal, I recognize my cars strengths and weaknesses and that doesn't bother me...If you want to get him back, save some money and get some performance work done to your car...but theres no reason to hate him...

that car sounds like rice for life, he has a whack CRX with altezzas and a wing and ****. it is stripped with a B16 turbo, funny how people who have money for good parts also spend it on stupid ****.

 

Driven: you went about it all wrong. You should have been really nice to him gotten his name and phone number then posted it all over OT.net!!! Of course, you could have taken a picture of his ugly face/car/girlfriend and we here at honda-tech could have basterdized them publicly!

Drag racing has too many "sloppy" variables for betting any kind of cash. Driver's experience, traction, gearing, vehicle weight, power, torque.. If you're going to bet money on yourself you should be betting it on your own skill.....on a race track. You could be a horrible driver with a smokin' fast drag car and beat people with good cars and good drivers. Why waste money on 14 second competition.

I'm glad to hear to tried to bet him on an autocross track, that's great!! I've always felt that if a car doesn't do low 12's or faster it's wasn't meant for drag racing.

or what about the ones that think there the bomb when they flex next to you in a '86 civic four door with 6 people and a dog, thinking they have a chance
