today i noticed that my 3rd gear would grind after i hit VTEC. when i shift before 5k it doesnt grind. all my other gears go in fine. does any1 know what the problem is? the tranny only has like 30k on it and i dont beat on my tranny at all. i only shift hard when i race.

 

try checking your tranny fluid level. 5th gear grinds on the rents accord but that was after 50,000 miles of horrific shifting.

 

couldm be ur sincrros(SP) my are shot in third gear too

 

my car started doign that on 3rd.. then i check the oil level on the tranny, added some and 3rd stopped and now its 4th... always grinds when i shift into 4th... anyways, a guy in G2IC, told me that a good way to fix that , since the synchros are oil activated, its to raise the car real high from the pass side... add oil until bleeds out... let it sit overnight withthe car raised , so the oil makes it by gravitiy to the left side. cb the synshros has small holes in wich the oil gotta go tru... i did it and quiet the grind a lot.
