Ok, my buddy had all kinds of different honda's with swaps in them, like h22 hatches, gsr's, right now a built ls vtec in a 4 door LS. But his most wierd swap that he's had was this mini me swap that he just got rid of for this integra, he did this all while I was gone for 3 months. It was a D15 with a D16y5 head (the 2stage vtec head) and he had the solenoid rigged up so you wouldn't have to use the vtec pressure switched, because of the y5's needing 2. Well the car actually ran very well and did great. Just wanted to put this out there to see if anybody else has done this besides my buddy, i'm sure they have but just wanted to see other ppls opinions. The car was a very very clean coupe so he swapped the coupe off for the integra lol.

 

You really do not "need" the pressure switch, it's more for the safety of your motor.

 

I know that lol.. he couldn't run it anyways because it needed 2 for a d16y5. I didn't run one on my hatch for awhile, but if someone doesn't know the bypass for it then they do need it considering the vtec won't engage without bypassing it or having the plug hooked up... I was just wondering if anyone else has done the mini me swap with the 2stage vtec head like he did.

did it run good? my buddy said his ran good and the vtec came in pretty good considering both solenoid pieces came in at once and everything. I'm thinking that if I get my wife a car next year this is what i'm going to be doing lol.. I just like messing around with stuff like this and when my buddy said he did that it had me wondering.

lol, yeah I have a b16 in my del sol and my wife has to drive it until I get my license back, but when I get my license back I have to get her a car lol.. she wants a coupe..
