Default d16y8 timing?

I just changed my distributer and I need to know what the stock timing degree is set at, I tryd searching but its limited on my blackberry, thanks

Been trying to search and the number 16 keeps poping up but I'm not clear, is 16 degrees stock timing? I don't have a manual

so I set my base timing to 16deg on my 99 ex y8 would that trip my knock sensor at around 2100 rpm? sorry for my ignorance in ignition timing
ps I will be setung it to 12 deg in the morning

Among the 96-00 Civics, only the Civic Si with the B16a2 engine uses 16-degrees BTDC for the ignition timing. All others use 12-degrees BTDC, regardless of transmission.

Just set the ignition timing to the red mark on the crank pulley. Then you'll be good to go.
