Default 95 accord speaker question

hey guys idk if this question is relevant to the topics discussed here but i have a problem. everywhere i have looked it says i can fit 6x9 speakers in my rear deck. problem is there is a bracket currently holding in a 6 1/2 inch speaker. i have a lx version and i know for a fact the ex or dx does have 6x9's. so it looks like the bracket can be unbolted and then a 6x9 would be able to drop in. now once the bracket is removed what would the speaker screw into? if anyone has some information on this i would really appreciate it.

EX has 6x9.

Use Crutchfield to determine what speakers you need. If you want to upgrade to 6x9 I can tell you there's no additional bracket they fit into, but I'm unsure if you have holes for it already.

my car has a metal bracket that bolts into the rear deck with 4 bolts, then the 6x9 bolts to it...the holes are already cut though, but they are big enough without the brackets that the speaker would probably fall thru...oh, its a 1995 ex

Simply cut a 1/4" piece of mdf to copy the metal part. Then cut a hole for the 6X9 using the cardboard template supplied with the new speakers.
