Default Upcoming mods

Hey guys, i have a 1999 civic dx 4dr as most of you already know haha. I am planning on spending about $100-$150 on my car cuz im still 16 and i dont really have much cash. I will be getting a grill and debadging my car, i will buy an n1 muffler, CAI, and a short shifter plus **** ****, and i will be blacking out my headlights to some extent as most people do. Hopefully all this looks good on my car even though im sticking with wheel covers cant afford rims yet. Does anyone think itll look kinda weird after these mods? Dont be too hard on me im still new haha. Tell me what you guys think.

don't just get a muffler, it won't sound how you want it to, and the people that think it's going to sound ricey don't know what they are talking about, all it will do is be a little louder than stock, nothing to get concerned about.

But yes, get a grill, cai, debadge it, personally wouldn't get a short shifter right away, but get a nice shift **** if you please.

IMO I wouldn't "black out" the headlights, and stock hubcaps (wheel covers as you call them) don't look bad but Please don't get any cromie homie vatozone hubcaps.

1. Please don't get an N1. Get *anything* that's not straight through... Apexi WS2 is my vote, but there are others by magnaflow, kteller, ES, ANYTHING. Muffler won't add any power anyway and your neighbors will thank you.

2. CAI won't really do much on a d16y7, especially one that you're getting for under $100, but go ahead if you're set on it. For $50 though, you could get a dropin K&N filter and have the same results. A better mod might be a d16y8 intake and manifold. A much better mod would be a d16y8 transmission.

3. Nothing wrong with wheelcovers. I rock them in the winter cause I don't wanna mess up my bunk-*** Rotas lol. HT marketplace is full of people selling LS mesh wheels, fat fives, etc with tires for under $200, so you could always go that route. NEVER EVER put anything bigger than 16s on a Civic. Just don't.

4. Short shifter is personal preference. Some don't like them. Don't buy a $10 one from ebay... spend at least $50 on the B&M, so it doesn't snap the first time you yank it hard.

5. '**** ****.' lol.

spend the cash on a decent suspension setup before you even think about wheels because the wheels you eventually get will not look right if it isnt lowered somewhat.. honestly in my opinion i would put everything else on hold right now and do suspension first because your car sitting like it is now with all the stock parts would look great slammed on the hubcaps.. yet sitting at stock height with everything you just named people will see it as just another civic some kid slapped a muffler on. Just my opinion but good luck in whatever you decide!

Don't black house your headlights, smoke it. Get smoke spray and paint the housing. Don't overdo it, if you do it right you should be able to get that black chrome feeling to it somewhat like the Type Rs. I'm waiting to get paid to get another set of headlights to smoke it after ****ing up my current set having to sand it all down then black housing it. =[

My suggestion is to seriously save your money for a good suspension setup. Lower your car then get rims, if your a Spoon fanatic get Rota Slipstreams!!!! or Spoon SW388s, Desmond Regamasters EVOIIs. =D Then engine swap if your into performance. My advice is do it right so you won't have second thoughts later. Intakes, short shifters, and shift ***** is all personal preference. On a D16, intakes only makes a little difference when going high speeds and basically a K&N filter or removing stock box and putting cone filter on stock arm works the same. For shift ***** I'm currently using a 86 CR-X shift **** that I found in the junkyard. It looks pretty ugly but it shifts so damn smooth that I can't let it go.
