ok my tranny does not grind but it has a whining sound, but only in second and third...mostly at the lower rpms....now i was thinking maybe syncros, but idk cus its only in 2nd and 3rd... especially if i have to downshift for anyreason it also does that.....

need opinions and ideas..........its jus my dd but still wanna kno what it may be...its been doing this ever since i got the car, and is very much drivable and shifts perfect, its jus the noise...

Easy way to tell the uninformed people, they always blame the synchros first, esp. on D trannys.

 

and by uninformed u mean what???

I was asking could it be the syncros bcus the noise is between specific gears..... so I was jus asking a simple question that u didn't answer so there was no point in u writing that....

i vote for input shaft bearing. I had the same issue, you can drive on it, its just noisy.

 

oh ok thx....I'm hopefully gonna drop it out soon to see exactly what it is, jus wanted to get an input from ppl who may have had a similar prob...
but it's even doing the noise when in gear and driving and also when I move it side to side when in neutral it does it , but louder when it in neutral but moved to the right toward 5th and rev....but idk I shall see, hopefully easy fixing, but thx both of u =}
