rear lower control arm
ok so my lower control arm are rusted and bolts wont come out...i broke one and had to drill out...took 3 hours...the one that goes to strut...my question is since im replacing these will all the bolts be like this or wat...any help is appreciated...wats the best way to take them off
Mine rusted to the bushings as well so I snapped off both side then ripped out the LCA with the Shocks still attached and threw it away. Replaced with function7 and buddy blub nspec+
MOST older hondas will have this problem if it is in a shitty climate area. to curb this...if you are getting new susp anyway then just replace the lcas at the same time.

dang, I live in the Memphis area and I never had problems with my LCA bolts seizing. To others people: Memphis really just gets rain. It might snow or ice over once a year with a little salt on the roads, but it's mostly just rain.
But then again, I have never removed an LCA bolt by hand. It's always had an impact wrench remove it.

i dealt with this problem few years ago on my hatch. i ended up getting all new control arms, shocks, springs, and oem bolts all in one shot.
my coupe i took precaution and soaked all the bolts in PB Blaster and Sea Foam spray stuff everynight for about 2 months before any suspension work was done. i must of spent over 200 bucks over time but when it came time to swap out the parts i didnt have one single bolt seize up or give me trouble. either i got extremely lucky with the car or it actually helped.

Can any of you describe how the shocks attaches to them and what model you have?
I'm asking because I just bought an EJ1 and noticed something. EG and EK LCA's are different in that with the EG the shock goes inside the lca and bolts in, while with the EK's shock has a sort of claw that goes around the top and sides of the lca and bolts in. Is that right?
I assumed the EJ1 was basically an EG and would have the same setup, but if what I said above there is correct, then My Coupe has an EK rear setup and not EG. EJ's are rare where I'm from so I don't have much info on this. The Excel-G's are okay for now, but what's my situation when I wanna upgrade suspension?

no you have that backwards. the 92-95 civic rear lca is just like the 94-01 integra non type r. it is in the shape of a upside down squared off U and goes around the lca and the bolt goes through it that way.

no that is not the case. the "ek" has a longer rear lca. so if you had that on your car it would throw all your suspension geometry off.
this is correct. usdm eg/ek/integra non itr have the fork over the lca design whereas the itr uses an eyebolt into the lca design.

Weird. My eg8 is jdm and it has the eyebolt into the lca design. I also saw other 5th gens with this setup(all jdm). My ej1 (also jdm) has the U design. Maybe it's a jdm/usdm thing.
yeah my eg6 rear brake conversion came with the eyebolt style lca. my buddy figured they were from an itr. but i thought the eg6 came with them. where are the japanese fellers at?? lol.
Alright on the topic of rear LCAs.. Can i switch out the JDM EK9 RLCA with my EG RLCAs? I plan on doing the 5 lug swap. My EG rear LCAs are the eyebolt type, so i need to re-use them because of the shocks.
Interesting - didn't know that the JDM EG6 used a different style of Rear LCA and Shock Absorber mount. For those that are curious, the LCA P/Ns for an EG6 SIR-2 are 52350-SR3-N01 (R) and 52360-SR3-N01 (L). Bushings are P/N 52365-SR3-004.
