i need a cat for my brothers car fast..reg due this month.. he failed NOX i think its the cat im i rite.. so i need to buy or barrow a cat just to get it smog again and pass... i need it quick please guys help...

 

Does the car have any exhaust leaks before the cat? How bad did he fail nox? Did you try a new o2 sensor?

 

how bad is nox? if it a gross polluter than yes you need a cat if not try to retard the timing to 12 or 13 degrees. then you will surely pass smog.

You cold just pay the registration now and don't worry about the late fee... Of course u won't get the sticker but they will wait for you until you get your smog done.

 

yea i told my brother that.. but everything on the car stock.. im not sure when did the previous owner replace the cat and the 02 sensor..ill check on that

Your #'s are really close, try retarding the time, and tell the guy you wish to try it one more time with out scanning for testing, just a pratice test...if it passes...then do it for real if not, then look into O2S, and a universal cat.
