spoon sports cams and valve springs question ??
Just installed spoon cams and spoon valve springs a few days ago on my 01 R. After the install i hear a clicking noise, that completely goes away as soon as the car starts to warm up. I set the valve lash at the stock specs (intake: 0.006" - 0.007" exhaust: 0.007" - 0.008). When adjusting on the intake side, 0.007 fit loose, but 0.008 wouldnt fit at all, and for the exhaust side, 0.008 fit loose, but 0.009 wouldnt fit at all. When i contacted Mark from Opak Racing, he said that if i set the valve lash at the stock specs, there should be no problem... but he recommends that i just double check it anyway. Anybody have any ideas, or suggestions on what the problem could be. Thanks.
i have spoon cams installed in my R for years but not really have this clicking noise bothering me... is it clicking every singal time that you start the engine until it warm up?
by the way, do you still have the spec sheet of cams with you? could you upload it for sharing, thanks ~~

Yes, every time i first start the car i hear the noise (only started it up about 3 times since the install)... then it stops as the cars temp. warms up. I'll check to see if i have the spec sheet to upload.
sorry u have a problem man but u should call edd or denis over at scrappy auto they will be happy to take a look at it or test drive it for u and tell u if everything is good with your car
