98 Civic 3DR VSM EK stock 120Kmi Wheeling, WV (Near Pittsburg)
So I bought this car only in this June as a project, I love EK's and this is my 2nd, my current daily is a red EK. I cleaned / fixed this car some and just got bored / realized builds are expensive / realized we don't have a garage lol. I might pick up the project again but if it sells for what I got it for + put into it I would be fine with that.
So the car as it is:
98' Honda Civic Cx Hatch in Vogue Silver Metallic with 125,xxx miles
5 spd. manual trans stock d16y7 non-vtec engine
No AC (stock blocked off) or PS
Valid W.V. inspection until July 2010
Clean title in hand.
VIN: 2HGEJ6323WH111408
Mechanics:
It runs well, hasn't stalled and I haven't noticed any gear grinds in the short time I have had it. When I got it it pulled to the left but I tried my HX wheels on it and the pull went away so I am sure its just a tire issue. Only aftermarket parts are the header and catalytic converter. If you are familiar with the civics of this year the hatchbacks came with the cat directly off of the exhaust manifold (down-flowing) and the EX coupes had it further back. I had to replace the exhaust so I installed a new Airmass header, a new hi-flow catalytic converter and a brand new Honda B-pipe from the EX model. I rerouted/extended the O2 wires, installed a new exhaust stay and all new exhaust manifold studs & bolts (Honda parts) so no codes and no worries. If you wanted to save $250 from my price I could take the exhaust from my Red civic and put it in this one but then it would throw a code for a cracked manifold.
Exterior:
Mostly good shape some small dents and dings, see pics and request more if I missed an angle or close up you want. The rear quarters have rust it doesn't appear to be through the exterior panels but the wheel-well panels are just a bit worse. The previous owner sprayed some Duplicolor silver paint on the right rear quarter. Antenna is broken I will give the one from my red car if you want it. Windshield is brand new from King's Auto Glass as of 07/23/09 receipt will be included. Rolling on stock steelies w/ hubcaps the tire treads all look good but they are mixed 3 brands (2Goodyear, 1Douglas, 1Classic?), all are Mud / Snow, all are holding pressure well. I put a Dx type painted spoiler on and will give you the old one as well, if you want to save $50 I will keep the Dx spoiler and install the stock one.
Interior:
This was a smokers car and I have been hard at work eliminating any evidence of that. I redid the headliner with a close to stock gray felt and while I was at it removed some panels and washed them best I could. I have scrubbed the seats and they are in pretty good condition few small burns. The drivers seat adjuster won't snap back down on its own but I am looking at that now with the seats out. Also will be cleaning the carpet while I have the seats out. I put an 00' SI cup-holder in (new from Honda) but if you prefer stock type with lid I will switch them. (Neither holds cups all that well lol) The driver side window regulator was replaced as well but still has a bit of a tough time near the top. No cracked plastic but some skuff marks here and there. Hood pull handle broke have a new one not installed yet. Also comes with a Pioneer CD player that works.
Price $3500 base as is, I listed 2 deductions above if you choose to take them. My daily has many broken plastic trim parts if interior isn't an issue to you I might be willing to take more of the good parts of this car for my daily for further smaller deductions. Keep in mind I don't have to sell this car, I'm not hurting for cash and I could renew my interest in it as such my price is firm.
Feel free to ask questions, request info and pictures in the thread.
