I think you need to measure the clearances to determine which shim thickness you need.......because there are a LOT of different shim options....
I'm doing a quaife install tomorrow, so I'll let you know what I find out and I'll take some pics....also, you'll need new taper roller bearings unless you can figure out how to get the old ones off, which I couldn't....

You have to take those bearings to a machine shop to get them off. I started my Quaife installation yesterday, and I will be taking it to the shop tomorrow to finish it up. The biggest advice I can give is use yours Helms manual. If you don't have one,
1. Start by unbolting the reverse locking bolt
2. Take off the shift lever housing, push the little tab back on the 12 mm bolt and take it out. Slide the shift lever out, and remove the interlock. (Don't forget the allen bolt underneath.)
3. Above the shift lever housing there are two bolts that hold in these little magnetic *****. You have to take those out, and right below them are two bolts that go all the way down through the tranny. Take those out.
4. Remove the plug on the very top of the tranny (You will need to put a 1/2 drive in there to do it) and there is a ring that fits into a groove, you will need to move it out of the groove, but don't remove it.
5. Take off all the bolts that go around the tranny housing.
6. There are two spots you can pry at, the tranny should be locked down with a little Honda-Bond. Pry it a little on each side till it pops loose. Lift the housing off, remember to bring it straight up.
7. Take out the two 10 mm bolts that hold the shift linkages on, and remove the linkage assembly.
8. Remove the reverse gear and shaft (It is by itself, and not in the big cluster in the center.
9. Lift out the center assembly, it is very important that the center assembly is removed as one piece. Just grab it on either side and pull straight up. It may be a little tough, but you can do it!
10. Pull the big gear out, (it is the only one left) and the diff is on the bottom. I have not taken the diff off the gear, but if I remember correctly, the bolts come out backwards (Not righty-tighty, but righty-loosey)
11. You have to take your Quaife to a machine shop so they can press the speedo gear off the diff and onto your Quaife. Have your new roller gears with you so those can be pressed on too!
12. Reverse the process, and assemble.

That is about best I can remember it. I am at work right now, but if you have any questions I check my computer during the day. If anyone wants to add to this, please, feel free to do so.

I just did my install today, and we managed to get the speedo gear off by hand and get it on the quaife.....all in all, it wasn't too bad! I got lucky and didn't need a new shim either....

Oh, and GSRlude is right, the bolts on the diff are reverse thread, and you need an impact gun to get them off easily......torque them back on at 76 ftlbs....

Brian, how did you get that Speedo gear off. I am trying to do it myself if it is possible. And how did you press on the bearings?

We hooked a ball joint puller up to the diff with the arms pulling on the speedo gear and put a piece of wood on the upper taper roller bearing to put pressure on.....then we hit the gear all the way around with a hammer, then tightened the puller, then hit it some more, then tightened the puller.......it took like 30 mins of that, but it would loosen ever so slightly every time until it came off.....then we just used a brass tap to tap it on the new diff....
As for the taper roller bearings, I have no clue how to get those off I bought new ones from http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com for like $65 shipped and just left the old ones on the old diff.....
