This is a completely stock 02 RSX S. When I drive over potholes there's a metal on metal clunking sound from the right rear. The exhuast is not making any noise. Everything looks tight back there.

What are the likely problems? Sway bar link/mount? Strut mount? Other?

 

I had a weird clunking sound too for the longest time, except mine was in the front. Then one day, it was gone lol. Never did figure out what was wrong though. I'm thinking something with the strut. How many miles does it have? Maybe you just got a faulty strut from the factory and it blew prematurely?

 

i hear the same thing with mine, i think it has a 2.25" lowering kit on it from when i bought it and idk if the sound is getting worse or not.. where do i start looking?

 

I had a bit of clunking from the rear on my '03 Type-s. The stabilizer end links were shot. Replaced them and all is quiet again.
