half of those oils arent true sythetics...they are not using the same base as the others....I got some articles at bookmarked at home, Ill try to remember topost them up later...Theres alot of good articles at bobistheoilguy.com
The brand doesn't matter.
Just choose the right range to get your oil pressure in check when cold and running hard.
If you don't want to run synthetic, change your oil more often, since non-synthetic breaks down quicker. Synthetic simply allows for longer times between oil changes.

To those running 30 weights in their turbo setups. Have you had any issues with thermal breakdown? That's my biggest issue, my oil breaking down and not getting the proper protection anymore. I'd like to stick to my Mobil 1 10w30 synthetic but I can't help buy think switching to a 40 weight would be better.
I was running 30 weigh last year and kept toasting it, was changing it every 2 weeks. this year went to vr-1 20-50 well see how that hold up, been 3 weeks and still looks new.
Plain Castrol 20W-50 changed before and after every track event. Every 3K daily driving.
I did some oil analysis for track driving and it turns out my car could car less what type of oil I run in it. It will break it down in about 150 track miles regardless.
I had a post somewhere....
I'll see if I can find my pdf's of the analysis and do an update.
I was using RP but that stuff was leaking out of my engine everywhere, switched to Castrol and the leaking stopped.
I will be using either the Brad Penn or Valvoline VR in my new motor.
