crazy high pitch scream
ok so heres the deal i just swapped a jdm f22b into a 91 accord and now i have a super high pitch scream and cant track it down. it gets even worse when map sensor is hooked up and when u start to slow down after about 20 mph or so it stops. so far i have put old intake mani back on and also resealed every thing no help at all. please help i am a civic guy and this is the first accord i have ever done.
its a auto tranny. sounds like a vaccum leak but i have traced all the lines and they all got replaced. only other thing is that i am burning through gas like it is going out of style. 22 mile and i use a 1/4 tank
You forgot to hook the line that connects into the black box behind the block. You've must've forgot to connect it, therefore your reason for this really annoying high pitch whistle. It's a line that runs from the Intake Mani to a black square box on the back of the block. connect that and you'll be fine.

if you think you have a vacuum/manifold leak, then take some throttle cleaner and spray along all of the manifold/throttle/intake/and all vacuum sources. if the idle changes, you've found a leak.
2 marro after work i am going to go with a tried and true method...take a known good part and see what happens. old mani going back on and new one comming off i hope this works only have 3 more days before my other half gets back and she has no idea i did this to her car...oops must of forgot to tell her before she left...

If it was a cracked IM then it would've surged erratically up and down on your RPM gauge. I forgot to tighten down my top half IM onto the lower half and it surged up and down for a whole day til I found out that it wasn't tighten all the way down.
ALRIGHT SO AFTER A WEEK OF MESSING AROUND WIH THIS CAR I HAVE SOLVED THE PORBLEM....SWAPPED THE JDM INTAKE OFF FOR THE USDM AND NEW GASKETS BANG NO MORE NOISE. AND THAT LITTLE BLACK BOX ON BOTTOM OF THE INTAKE RIGHT IN THE TRASH...ALL BETTER...
