Maybe your throw out bearing is shot?? I think you need to describe it more when driving the car.

its a auto tranny. sounds like a vaccum leak but i have traced all the lines and they all got replaced. only other thing is that i am burning through gas like it is going out of style. 22 mile and i use a 1/4 tank

You forgot to hook the line that connects into the black box behind the block. You've must've forgot to connect it, therefore your reason for this really annoying high pitch whistle. It's a line that runs from the Intake Mani to a black square box on the back of the block. connect that and you'll be fine.

ok so just finished the vacuum line thing and guess what i forgot it but the only problem lies in the fact that it did not fix the problem....any one ever heard of a cracked lower intake mani..it is the last possible think i can think of..and if that not it a book of matches a few gallons of gas and bang insurance money...

if you think you have a vacuum/manifold leak, then take some throttle cleaner and spray along all of the manifold/throttle/intake/and all vacuum sources. if the idle changes, you've found a leak.

If it was a cracked IM then it would've surged erratically up and down on your RPM gauge. I forgot to tighten down my top half IM onto the lower half and it surged up and down for a whole day til I found out that it wasn't tighten all the way down.
