gm syncromesh, or the new honda synthetic stuff. or anything you think is good enough for your transmission. i got walmart **** in mine right now, and it seems to do ok. so, its up to you. there are also tons of threads on this on honda tech. if you search, you might find something worth reading.

If you look a couple threads down you will see that you can put motor oil in there. 10w-30

Do one quart 10w-30 and one quart of pennzoil synchromesh. Or if you can find it use GM synchromesh with friction modifier.

don't do 75W 90.. it is too heavy for a honda transmission. I have tried it all, 5w30, 10w40, honda MTF, pennzoil synchromesh, red line mt-90, and on and on. I keep coming back to straight honda MTF. For the price and the performance, it is the best value in my opinion.

As a side note, i have used redline mt-90 and it feels no different, maybe even a little worse than honda MTF. For the price, honda MTF is the best you can get.

75w90 might be ok in Southern California. My experience is that it's too thick and causes notchy shifting below 50 degrees F.

I'm using 50/50 Redline MTL(75w80) and MT-90(75w90). Winter shifting is seamless.
