Default "TURNING" the distributor???

Ive heard that you can adjust your idle a small amount by turning the dizzy...i looked at the dizzy and it does have a little play in it where you could move it a small amount?? anyone ever heard/done this??

ok...well that kinda makes sense. the guy who told me this has been around V8's all his life.

so this CANNOT be dont on a honda/acura?

ya its called adjusting your ignition timing.. i wouldnt move it at all unless u have a timing light .

moving the dizzy forward and backwards will retard or advance the ignition timing. if u advance it too much your engine will not last long..

You adjust the idle using the idle screw on the throttle body, but 99% of the time, if you're idle is messed up, there's something else that you should fix first.

Turning the distributor retards or advances the timing, as someone else said. You should use a timing light if you want to adjust it properly.
