I usually don't post and try to search but so far i cant find out what the problem is with my car and wanted to know if anyone could give me some input on what the problem may be. i have a 1995 honda civic that dies on me every now and then when im driving. i changed out my distributer, main relay, fuel pump and it still dies on me, battery charges up fine and keeps on cranking when the car dies, the lights do not dim out or any thing. Its kinda wierd because it dies alot when i press the defrost button, but not every single time but maybe 4 out of 6 times, but all i have to do is wait a little while and it will start right up again. when the car die i try to restart it and all it does is keep on cranking, i do not hear the fuel pump priming and all the lights on the cluster and on the climate control work. There is a check engine light but when i jump the wires to find out what code its throwing the check engine light does'nt do anything, it just stays on and instead the SRS light is blinking. what could it be?could it be the ignition switch? what are the symptoms or do i just have a short somewhere
Check whether the important ground wire attached to the thermostat housing is loose or corroded. Sand it clean and tighten it up.
If the problem continues, check whether fuse 31, 24, or 18 is loose or corroded and whether any ECU connectors are loose or corroded.
As a last resort, try swapping in known good ECU.
