Icon2 Feeler: H22 mounts

My name is Justin, and im tired of over priced mounts that include just that, the mounts for 400 or more. The mounts that im starting this feeler thread for will be made out of 1/4in mild steel with your choice of 75a, 85a, or 95a urethane inserts. They will also have adjustment slots because i know not every ef is the same i mean its almost a 20yr old car there are some that have been in minor and major wrecks, they will also have lift points made into the mounts them selves. The tranny mount that goes on the actual body will ether be bolt or weld on. The ball park price will be 250-300, this will include the mounts and a cable to hydro conversion and maybe an alternator relocation kit for ether H, B, or D series. So i need at least 10 people that are interested in this to start making them, i can make a set and send to someone trust worthy to test if yall would like.

Thanks
JC

any chance you are thinking about doing other mtor opions also?
I am tired of overpriced mounts as well but usually stay with a b-series.

I'd be interested to see how you plan to do this but other then just seeing a tech head's idea my buying would not happy I'm happy with my current setup.

You will find 2 kinds of EF people morons who have no money and old heads whom already are happy with the setup's they have. It's not a great market to get into but I'd love to see your plan.

You may want to consider being a vendor, as the rest of us can't get away with pulling a stunt like this..

Try making your product first, then marketing it.

Personally, I'd rather buy a tried and true tested product that i know fits and will hold up.

Just my .02

as long as his welds are good, mount is correct it should be fine since it sounds like he will be using decent urethane.

That's the thing. You would have to convince people who don't know anything about him or his talents that his product is safe and effective, just like anybody else starting into a similar venture.

This is not a direct attack because I have no idea who OP is and have nothing to base any opinions off of. These are the same questions I would ask ANYONE.

How do i know his welds are good? How do I know he even knows how to weld at all? Is he using cheap steal? Has it been heat treated in anyway already? Even if the weld look good, how do I know there is no porosity? What about penetration? Cracks? You can have a beautiful cap with a garbage root pass.

Nothing short of a magflux, dye pen or x-ray are going to show me what the welds are like. And when it comes to only saving a couple dollars, I'd sooner go with the name brand stuff.

Other people may feel differently.

i feel the same way but as i said you have to start from somewhere where it be the bottom or top. and im going to offer a 10yr warranty on the actual mount not the inserts no questions asked. as posted in the begining im willing to send one set to a mod or a well know person on here to test
