Small dents in fender, what do I do?
I just got my 99-00 JDM fenders from password JDM and The right one installed flawlessly, but I had a little trouble with the left one so I kinda pushed it to try and get it to fit properly and now it's got some dents in it, they are very small and you can only notice them if I point them out, but it really bugs me because the fenders are brand new and I already messed it up. They arent painted they seem to have a weird layer like you can see the grease from my fingers very easily, so what do i do to get the fender perfect again? I do plan on painting the whole car when im finished with all the body work. Should I wait until I paint it and apply bondo or something? Seems kinda much for such small dents.
EDIT: Ill try and get some pics but my batteries in my camera are dead.
EDIT 2: Here are the pics, is night time, ill take some more tomorrow so its easier to see. Im doing a front end conversion if your wondering why it's all black, still need the hood and grille.
Here is the fender with the dents

The right side is perfect.

How many dents and what are the sizing of them? Like around the size of a dime? Or are they smaller? Yes it would probably be cheaper to do it yourself. Depending on how big and how many there are it will probably cost between $100-$300 i would think with the fixing and primer. Are the fenders metal or fiberglass? If they are metal you have to take into consideration that you have to mix the bondo, sand the area down first so the bondo has something to stick to, apply it, wait for it to dry, Then start with the sanding process. Start with a low grit number and work your way up higher. Work slowly and take your time if you want it to look good. The most important part is if they are metal fenders then make sure you primer the fender after you have finished with the bondo. If you do not primer the fender and It has been taken down to bare metal that it will end up rusting through the bondo and you will have to start from step one again. Hopefully this helps at all and if not best of luck.

That was just a rough estimate. I had a spare hatch off of a car that had holes in it from a spoiler and also had a bit of rust on it. there where about 12 or so holes from the third brake light, rear wind shield wiper, and then from the spoiler mounting holes (this hatch was from a 89-93 nissan 240sx) I was quoted $200 from one shop and was also quoted $150 from a shop that i know and am friends with. So i would say $300 is on the high side and that it would probably be more on the lower end of the spectrum that i quoted. Wow less then $300 for two brand new fenders. That seems like a really good deal. Best of luck

The body line? Yeah I bought them new, the reason it is dented is because when I installed it I pushed it and it made a kind of bend in it and I tried to smack it out and it got worse. I was reading online to use a rubber mallet.
not the first fitment issue ive heard on those password jdm fenders. they`re nice as they have the cutout for the sidemarkers already. I was also planning on picking one up since my fenders are effed. you must`ve had a hell of a fitment prob considering you bashed the damn fender lol

im no expert but hopefully not more half of what you paid for the pair
those bumps you did along the fender well line is nasty though.

Pre cut = perfect fit, no rust, and perfect placement. I dont trust myself enough to cut a hole in a fender and paint it to avoid rust, id rather just get it pre cut. Also I honestly think this isnt that big of a problem, and it should be very easy to fix, I shouldnt have to get an entire new fender over this, I mean really. What about people who have baseball size dents in their cars and get them fixed.
people like me who are good friends with body shop owners would get that dent fixed for free/a little labor trade off.
those nice big dents you put in that fender, especially on the body line will not come out with a hammer, it is going to take a hammer, filler, sand paper, primer, more filler, more sand paper.
first you gotta fill it and shape it, then sand the filler, then fill again to fix what you didnt get right, trust me, you wont get it right the first time.
then you sand again, then you prime, then block it down to level it out, then you probably re prime and block again because it still wasnt level.
its not a quick easy process, unless you want it to look like pure crap.
