Ok, so my friend has a 91 Si and somehow he accidentally broke his hood cable. Well he raised it up and reached up inside from the bottom to pull the cable and try to unsnap the latch.. well it got worse, he accidentally pulled the cable from the latch, now the hood is stuck shut and we are needing ideas on how to unlatch the hood and everything. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

 

try taking the front bump off and expose the area infront of the radiator then force the latch off with a screw driver just like the hood latch would do it if it were conected. gl

Oh yeah I wonder if you have AC and will it get in the way you should be fine just dont give up if worse comes to worse then cut off the front radiator support and areas where they connect to the hood and go buy another at the junk yard for cheap.

 

He took the front bumper off and can't figure it out, and the thing that suck is it has a b16 in it and it's about a quarter quart low and he was wanting to put oil in it. He just got the car 2 days ago lol.. it sucks man.

 

if you get the car up in the air just pull the bottom of the bumper so you can get your hand inside there and on the left (standing in front of the car) you will see like a small little square thing on the latch wwaaayy up in there. take a long screw driver and just move it like a eighth inch and your hood will pop right open

no need to cut anything or nothin. its very easy as long as you can pull your bumper out enough to slid your hand/arm in there lol. i dont have a hood cable on my car so thats how i have to open my hood every time..from the bottom ha
