Default tight bass for my hatch !

Got my 180 watt RMS Pioneer mono amp and my 10" RF pick up style box sub stolen from 91' Si hatch I call fat boy. I am going to upgrade to some more bass. I want to spend $300.

I want ringing in my ears from my next system but technically not deafness. I want hard hitting bass that shakes my rear view mirror, my throat and the shirt I'm wearing. I want party girls to take off their tops off and kiss, oh but I digress. I do not know how to else to explain it. I like to turn it up when driving and listening to good music with bass in the 20Hz-80Hz range. I like it sounding good.

I had a pretty good experience from a Pioneer mono 180 watt amp with a 10" RF in a small box. Now I was thinking a Clarion 400 watt RMS mono sub amp with a single enclosed Boston Acoustic 10" (or 12") 300 RMS that has 93 sensitivity might do the trick. What you think? Oh yeah I would rather not change my stock electrical charging system.

from what you said i would go with the 2 12in kicker comp and enclosure combo but that's like 300 bucks already but it puts out good amount of bass. then just find a good amp to match it.

Yeah two 12 kickers would sound great but I want to keep some trunk space and I do not want to over power the door speakers. I am running them off the radio power. Its a small hatch with good acoustics so one 10" or 12" with 300 watts should be enough to match or slightly overpower the doors. My previous set up with one 10" punch series one in a small box with 180 watts was almost enough to satisfy me. I think a larger box with a 10" or 12" with more watts might do the trick. Ive never heard Boston Acoustic subs. Are they good?

Under 300 you can pickup Really decent combos from local stores.

Rockford fosgate 12 in for 98

Power Axoustic 2000 watt amp:

Spend the tweny left over and buy the warranty. Youll be blowing these subs out EVERY month but theyll keep swapping them out for 3 years.

Youll be just under 300.

If you were in Vegas Id be able to hook you up with better prices and material. Sorry dude. LMK if you have any questions. I bump 3 15s in my car.

Sorry but Power acoustik are over-rated. If you don't want to change your electrical or upgrade then i wouldn't try to exceed over a true 1000 R.m.S power audio system. That system you point out there seen to be good for a small vehicle like that.

why not look into a 4 channel amp set up

- yes it will exceed your budget
- the sonic benefits are worth it.

2 channels run the front doors
2 channels bridged to a sub

Agreed. Only other option is to spend more.

Listen to me, get a 12 inch "kicker L5" in a sealed box with any 800 to 1000 watt 2 or 1 channel amp... Its enough to set off alarms! Trust me! I got a 10 inch L5 and its more than enough, but if u want girls to go nuts and make out, get the 12 inch!!

Do it right the first time. Buy a huge amp, you can always turn it down. The amazing sound quality will blow you away. Besides sub woofers are dirt cheap. Check out www.techronics.com thats where I buy. I buy the cheapest subs that handle the most power. But the amp is the most important part.

Go with what you posted, a 400W mono block sub amp driving a 300W sub is perfect, and more then enough wattage, [may have to turn amp down a little bit] for a good balance of high-pass/full-range to sub bass. 94
