Funny, I saw the title and thought it was a question about timing belts, not throttle bodies.

Since we're on the T/B topic,...at what point on an N/A build do these larger than stock T/B's become effective?
To stay OT Mines still OEM.

The skunk2 one is cheaper than the spoon and looks really nice, however a few of my friends who ran it, had issues with the throttle plate getting sticky (1 of them snapped 2 cables).

Spoon = hogged out OEM, can't go wrong with OEM IMO, other than the retarded Spoon pricing...

same here... used to have a 2.0l with a 68/70mm
The skunk TB is another option i would definitely look into.. it all depends the amount of mods you've done to your car. Or at least what you plans happen to be.

did your friends adjust the throttle plate?
my throttle plate was sticky too after My R just put it back together
the throttle plate bolt was too loose and the throttle plate dropped downward a little bit
after adjusted the throttle plate, it was fine

The skunk2 one occured on both the old ones and the newer 'proseries' ones. He was able to 'warranty-return' them in the end so i do commend Skunk2 for their fantastic customer support.

On the last try, my friend did attempt to adjust it a little bit so that it wouldn't stick (only seemed to happen when fully shut) however, he could live with the high idle due to the plate being a hair open to prevent the sticking.

2 snapped cables and 2 tow truck rides home and he was done with it unfortunately

Skunk2 recently halted production on their tb's due to complaints of sticky plates and falling apart. They recently came out with there new unit. At least thats what they said... I looked into it as the price seemed reasonable. It's always good to e-mail or call and talk to companies. They usually know whats up. I'm probably going with a 68mm Ericks racing TB on my turbo h-series motor. I've never heard much negative about them.
