just bought a fat five
did get a good deal or did i get screwed? i bought fat fives for 150 they in ok condition theyre not so shiny and has some scratches and 3 tires that needs to be replaced. im planning on polishing them to make them look better. i tried it on my 97 civic but the fitment didnt feel as tight asthe rims i have for it with hubcentric rims. do i need to get one? it sits tight after putting the lug nuts but it not so sure with the 4 lug nuts holding them. does any1 have a picture of a lowered 97 milano red civic coupe with fat fives. thanks
Good deal.
No, you do not need hubcentric rings, because the "fat fives" from the '94-95 Integra GS-R have the same size center bore as the hubs on your '97 Civic (56.1 mm). They should fit perfectly.
Note that the "fat fives", like most Honda/Acura rims, need lug nuts with a ball-shaped seating area, not the tapered shape of lug nuts used with aftermarket rims.

do you have a link or pics of the ball-shaped seating area lugs nuts and where i can buy them for cheap. and what tires should look best with with the 195/55/15 or 205/50/15? my car is lowered 2 inch. i currently have 205/50/15 and it rubs on deep holes.
Here's a picture showing the difference between the two types of lug nuts (the shape of the seating area, the part of the lug nut that comes into contact with the wheel). The three on the left are the cone, or tapered, shape needed for aftermarket wheels, and the one on the right is the radius, or ball-shaped, shape needed for Honda/Acura wheels.

Check your lug nuts; it's possible you've already been using ball-shaped lug nuts with your aftermarket wheels, which would not be a good idea, but would make them perfect for the fat fives. Otherwise, you should be able to get lug nuts with the ball-shaped seat at your neighborhood auto parts store (I think they're around $3 each at Autozone) or at your local Honda or Acura car dealer parts department (where they may charge you $5-8 each).
195/55-15 and 205/50-15 should both work on your car, even with lowering by as much as 2". Your current, aftermarket wheels may be worse for rubbing if the offset on those wheels isn't best, i.e. doesn't position them for maximum clearance in the wheel wells. The "fat fives" should have a good offset for your car. Try them out and see how it goes.
In terms of clearance, 195/55-15 and 205/50-15 are usually pretty similar. 195/55-15 is 10 mm narrower, so that creates a bit more clearance, but it also has a slightly larger outer diameter, which reduces clearance and offsets the treadwidth advantage.
If you're still having clearance problems with the fat fives and either size, you may want to consider changing your suspension to give it a bit less lowering. But I wouldn't be surprised if you don't have any problems with either tire size on fat fives. Try them and see.

do you know where i can buy online with good colors and a good lock? and does any1 have a picture of them in a milano red civic 96-00 coupe lowered with type r lip but any red coupe will do? the rims i have are not polished so it didnt look that good when i tried them on. i hope some1 has a better pitcure.
The only colored lug nuts and wheel locks I'm aware of with the ball-shaped seat you need for the fat fives are the black ones Acura sells for the NSX. You can find the part numbers in the FAQ topic stickied at the top of this forum. And you can find posts about Acura dealers who sell discounted parts on their websites in this topic.
