Default Bogging problem, plz help!

Ok heres my situation... I have a 97 ex that i just put a Ls swap into! Now the first few times i started it up it was fine. the idle was fine! i went to start it up yesterday and it took a 3 tries for it to turn on! like the battery was loosing charge. And also the idle was really low, and when i step on the gas it boggs out and back fires and sometimes it even cuts off! would anyone happen to know what the problem might be??? Your help is surely appreciated!

Is the dash battery/charge light staying ON? Have you charged the battery?

Is the CEL on? The backfiring suggests that you should check the mechanical timing.

No the battery light doesn't stay on. And yes, i just charged the battery so i dont know if its tha altenator??? And as far as the bogging! you might be right about the timing being off, so ill check that! but would you happen to know why when i press on the gas it boggs out? could it be bcuz of a vac leak???

Does the engine idle normally? If so, what voltages do you measure across the two battery posts when the engine is idling with and without the lights and vent blower on?

A vacuum leak normally would not cause bogging. Check the mechanical timing first.

Well the idle starts off really low like it wants to cut off. Then it goes up to about 2-3k and idles there! only when i step on the peddle is when it boggs out. And also theres a screaching noise coming from the altenator... What do you think the problem is with that???

Check whether the alternator belt is loose or glazed. Replace or tighten the belt if necessary.

If you have one, clean the FITV on the throttle body.

Check the mechanical timing as well.
