JDM D15B (the one with normal VTEC) is worth getting. It's not too expensive, and has the most power out of any stock D-series. Try to get one with an LSD transmission for the most benefits.
It's in your head. The non-VTEC D15B is like a D15B7. Slow as f*ck.
P.S. you have one header.

Re: is a d15b worth it???
....wow.
dont even bother with it. go big or leave it stock.
jdm vtec d15 has a tad more hp then z6. but z6 has a tad more torque. both are small and slow.
it all depends on your wallet and how fast you want to go. i did alot to my 3 dif D series motors and never was satisfied.
but then again my 400hp gsr turbo motor doesnt satisfy me either. so it could just be me....i need a space shuttle

if you want a reliable motor and are occassionally gonna get on it, get the regular d15b(vtec), or d16z6.
3 stage and nonvtec d15 arent fun...

A GSR swap will get better gas mileage and be more fun. I have a D15B in my 4 door and it feels just a bit better than the D15B7 with a CAI and EX header.
If you're dead set on getting the D15B, at least get the 92-95 2 stage version, otherwise you'll have issues finding the ECU to make the 3 stage work correctly.

was just about to post the same thing.
NOW GOOD LUCK FINDING THE RIGHT ECU! It won't happen.
Totally a god damn waste of money, what you just did there.
