1992 Accord Cooling/AC fan problems
I have a 1992 Honda Accord EX 4 door auto w/ac, 285,000 miles and still counting, It seems as the fan or fans that are suppose to come on after the car shuts down are not coming on. While running the car, I turn on the ac, both fans come on. When I turn the ac off and run the car, one seems to come on some of the time.
I have a Haynes book, but I still am a little confused on which sensor operates the fans. Thanks for your help!!!

Well here is what we have done and since we have same issue I thought I would post it here. I shorted jumper under dash board and I have no error codes at all.
Anyways I have done the following:
replaced thermostat
replaced raditor cap
swapped relay with power window
tested what I believe is the fan temp switch and it is located off the top raditor hose connects to engine head. I removed that plug and shorted those 2 wires and fan did not come on even with car running.
I also let car cool completely down and tested the resistance and it was bascially an open. then when car got super hot I tested resitance again and it is still an open. now to me it appears that temp switch is bad. but why wouldnt fans come on when I shorted wires.
The fans still only come on when I press ac switch.
what else can I test?
Here is a link on this site I thought was interesting but dont know if it applies to my friends problem.

Haven't done anything. I guess i will replace the sensor in the water jacket that connects to the radiator. The sensor in the thermostat housing has been replaced and so has the one besides the temp guage sensor. The reason I replaced them is that I had a pinhole leak in a small hose, I bumped that sensor and it completely fell apart. I recently replaced the radiator, so I replaced the bottom hose and thermostat also, while there I replaced that sensor also. The fans were not working when I shut the car off before the rad replacemnt. Still reading posts trying to figure out what is going on and how to fix it. tks
