It's definitely something you can do yourself. But if you haven't
done anything like this before, do some research and homework
on it. Look up some videos on YouTube (no matter how lame
they are) to watch someone go through the motions.

What you'd be doing is sanding a little around the area, backing
the hole up with fiberglass or metal mesh, using filler to plug the
hole, sanding it down so it's smooth with the car, using a little
glazing putty and primer and paint. Because the area is so small,
blending the paint should be pretty easy as long as you have a
pretty good match.

If you're into show car appearances and wouldn't be able to
stand it if you noticed it after staring at your trunk for a while,
I'd take it in somewhere. But if you're into DIY, it's totally
do-able and totally worth learning, in my opinion.

If you need more info on the DIY, I can give it to you or you
can search YouTube for a demo. I'd recommend watching
someone do it beforehand anyway.

Good luck, man.

I'm in Michigan so I'm constantly filling little rust spots and holes
like that. A salute to road salt.

The fiberglass kit is like $12...and you'll have a lot left for the future.
The filler is around $7 for a little can
The glazing putty is about $3
Paint and primer varies by whatever you go with.

It's pretty cheap and a good learning experience. Plus, if you jack
it all up, you can just do it again until you get it right.

Yeah, dude. It doesn't look bad at all. I'm not on the anti spoiler / wing trip. I'd even toss one on my newly acquired Del Sol if I could find one I like. That's a clean looking ride you have there.

Those Mugen replicas are, in fact, pretty sweet, dude..

Low key, classy and the pillars are designed right.
The Del Sol's trunk is a pretty unique design and a lot
of those pillar based wing / spoilers just don't look right.
The Mugen doesn't look like an after thought.

I like how it extends past the trunk lid just the right amount. I'm gonna probably get one right before I get my sol painted... whenever that happens.

Yeah, it adds and goes well with the rear window pillars.
I'm checking out some various photos of it now. I had ran
across photos of them before my old Del Sol got ripped
off. Good call, man. There was one other wing I saw that
looked kinda' like a 6th gen Celica but it was too tall for
the Sol, in my opinion. Good design had it lost an inch in
height.

What color are you painting it? At first, I had a hard time
with the Captiva blue on this one..I was used to darker colors.
But it's growing on me since I got it (late April)..

Just getting a respray... black. My paint is just worn out. Original color on my sol is the Captiva Blue... before I owned it.

Hah! Right on. I was ready to spray this one black as soon as I got it home..
Either patience made me admire blue more or the thought of all that prep
work did. Maybe later...
