Default Rear strut bar or Pillar bar?

Which is more effective at stiffening the rear?

I would think the strut towers... 'cuz if bottom of the car doesn't flex, the top (pillar part) shouldnt' flex.

Besides, pillar bars block rear view.

actually it doesn't, it's just below the view of the rear hatch window when you're looking in the mirror.

Do you have phase pillar bar? It's good to know that it doesn't block view.
