Yea you can build a motor yourself but is it worth the time and money of probably screwing it up. When you take the headlight apart and glue it back together there's a good chance that theres still going to be a pin size hole that leaks or you'll melt the headlight. Instead of wasting time and money and not even having headlights since they melt just better to buy them for around 80.
PS I was at the similar route myself when my headlights started to leak.

It isn't hard to bake headlights or tail lights without them melting. That is such a common misconception.
Nor is it easy to have a leak.
Bake the headlights @ 200ish degrees for 7-10 minutes on a pan covered in foil. Check the headlights every 2-4 minutes (this is the cautious method). Use a wide screwdriver or whatnot to pry the pieces apart. Make sure that the glue is completely soft otherwise you WILL break the headlight when you apply the force to get the headlights apart.
Do whatever you want to your headlights.
Seal them with clear RTV. Being sure to apply it generously in the crevices but not so much it will go inside the housing. Let cure for 24 hours and you are good to go.

Its a simple process, it probably takes longer to get the headlight out of the car. There is plenty of sealant on the lights to open and close them without adding any.
yea, easy job.. jesus people its your cars take a lil care and **** will come out good. dont need to spend 80+ dollars for a light that u can replicate with a tube of silicon and gunmetal paint(if u want)...
