no bigger than 2" if you are still NA...if you've boosted...best to go bigger...around 3"...and try and find a shop that does mandrel bent...it's much better.

totally, i reccomend usuing the diameter of the collector on your header. most are 2". dc's are 2.5 i believe which is too big for NA. im running 2 inch header back no cat and have amazing flow. also whats cool is that the 88 std B pipe is easily accessable from any parts store, only thing you hve to concern yourself with then is a 2" axle back. use the 88 std b pipe if you dont want to run a cat. the header bolts straight into it eliminating room for a cat.
also 2" looks stock which keep the cops off your back

cant think of the name of it but itll be like 400 cdn.

do they do real mandrel bends or just looks like mandrel bends
cuz i called every muffler shop and no one has it, and a few muffler shops told me that if a shop tells you they have a mandrel bend machine then they are BS'ing

well i was planning on running a 2.25
but 2.25 piping isnt gonna be the actual flow size cuz if i use crush bend and the smallest part of the bend is gonna be like 2.1x so its actually gonna be a 2.1x cat back
does anyone here run a 2.25 cat back ?? how does it compare to a 2 cat back ??

no ones gonna spend XXX thousand amount of dollars just to satisfy a few car guys
and most of the car guys go for pre-fab exhs like dc, greddy, hks...... etc
be warned that were are a few midas that i called that claimed to have a mandrel bend machine and when i went there to check it out, it was just a fancy crush bend
An alternative would be to buy mandrel bent pipes from your local Lordco or parts store & bring them to an exhaust shop to cut & weld for true mandrel bent exhaust system. Or you can spend more for a shop like this. http://www.lr-racing.com/exhaust.htm They are kinda pricey but as you can see from the pics. They make the aftermarket guys look bad!
i have 2.25 inch without cat on my I/H/E d16a6. it is great. i have no complaints, lost a little low end but it made up for it with GREAT top end pull.
i got 2.5" Mandrel bent Airmass Cat-Back exaust with A high Flow cat, With my stock ZC.. i lost a little low end but i picked up a lot of top end power.
