okay hears the deal, i have a viper alarm model 5002 on an 1996 integra and everytime i arm the the car through my remote it would just arm but no chirping sound.

also when armed, i kick the tire of my car and still no chirping or alarm goes off!! although the alarm still sends the warning message to my remote.

please help

check the wiring on the siren, if it isnt the wiring the siren itself may be bad.

 

you can program them so they don't chirp, could that be the problem. I know when using the valet button (not a bitwriter) it is the second feature in the first menu. Does your siren sound if the alarm goes off that could be the most important thing to know for diagnosing your problem

 

when you kick the tire and receive the signal to the remote does your parking lights flash? even if you have siren feature program off it should sound the triggered.

put 12v to the siren and see if it goes off if not bad siren red to power and black to ground.

if siren goes off then check the output from alarm. meter the two wire if I remember correctly power (red wire) should stay on constant and a negative pulse (black wire) when when you arm or disarm the system and constant ground when triggered.

maybe your plug for the siren came loose.

 

Either bad/disconnected siren or the alarm is in valet mode.

Is your l.e.d. blinking or solid?

 

if you hit the aux button by accident, that might have triggered it to SILENT mode.
if the led is solid, then its in VALET mode.

on dei alarms, if its in valet mode, turn the key in on position then off. within 10 secs, push and hold onto the valet button and you should here it chirp, or the led no longer stays solid.

 

Anybody know the problem?

 

i dont know much about alarm but i think joelmatt89 is right... i used to have an old viper alarm it chirp.... 1 day i try to unlock it n i press the wrong button couple time n back to the unlock button it auto turn off the chirp... i try kicking it to set the alarm off and it wont.... i just forget it until my car die. i thought it were battery so i disconnect (-)... after i reconnect the (-) it alarm chirp and it back to normal.... if it wont chirp when u reconnect the (-) try redoing it couple of time.... i think it should work.... or try disconnect both (+) n (-)
