Default New user needs help with a part

Hey everyone, long time lurker, first time member. I recently purchased a 98 Civic HX with AT. The car needs a starter to run, and I've been looking everywhere and it seems theres somthing special about the hx starter that you can not use anything else? Does anyone know where to source one or if there is something else I can use? I guess I just wasn't sure if thats true that HX is unique for this part? Thanks in advance
Andy

every transmission uses a different starter like...
single cam 5speed =starter A
single cam auto = starter B
b series 5 speed = starter c
b series auto = starter d and so on so forth

your hx has a continuasly variable transmission (cvt) it needs a starter for that specific transmission no others will work
I would check ebay for a used starter if you don't mind buying used

I have no problem with used, but the one listed there is 120 shipped and it says "new", not sure if thats a good price or not. Thanks for the heads up on the cvt, i'll be scoutin around.
