Well my rocksfordfosgate amp is giving me problems as of recently for a month it powered my 12 no problem could crank the volume now if I have the volume set anywhere below 15 the amp has power and thesub wrks but if I go anything above 15 the amp turns off and every so often comes back on for a sec and then turns off again all the fuses are fine ground wire is all good and all wires are fine I think any ideas ?!?

 

First thing is recheck the connections, [power and ground at both ends].
If using an AGU fuse, [large glass type] in amps power lead, replace it even if it looks good.

Disconnect sub from amp and crank volume if amp does not turn off try another sub, the VC on your sub may be damaged and amp is going into protect mode. 94

What model RF amp do you have? Is it Brands new or old? What FCM said would probably trouble shoot your amp problem.

has any other variables changed? hu? electronic xover? sounds like clipping to me but not if you have had it for a long time and the problem just started.

 

try checking your gain and the frequency on the amp maybe they are set to low i have the exact amp and works fine and try checking the connections behind the stereo maybe a cable is lose and touching metal

 

k well all fuses are checked, and replaced, i was playing with the gains and frequencys i can lower the gain and get more volume but little bass, and the same thing occurs once i turn it up the amp turns off. Its wierd cause the amp wrks perfect at 15 volume the sub wrks and itll go for hrs, i tested lol but 16 volume it shuts offs after the first note of bass and comes back on for a second and goes back off, im not sure whats goin on lol

 

and no variables have changed its all the same expect the box i got one recently but it was wrkin for 3 weeks with it and then started to do this

i hooked up another amp and it wrked perfect so its an amp
