just bought some slicks. need some tips to get started
Hi, i just bought some M&H slicks 23x7.5x15
Will be using these on my all motor H22 which ran 13.5 @ 104mph on street tires
What PSI should i run for the slicks and would it make a significant difference running lighter wheels in the back? I got some 17x8 gramlights 57pro with falken rt 615 which i heard are very heavy tires. I have some rota sliptreams with 205/50/15 on my beater prelude. Should I put those on or would it not make much of a difference? My goal is to hit 12.9.

Most ppl start around 12 and work there way down. Most end up around the 8psi point but id say start a little higher and see how things work. And for the rears every little bit helps but you prob wont see much gains from changing wheels and tires out.
start with around 10psi on small slicks like that.. and if you havent driven on slicks before be ready for a surprise and preload preload preload do you know what that is?
i have an idea but not 100% how to doit. Basically when lining up, pull up until the 1st light goes on and then pull up the ebrake and roll the car forward until the 2nd light? probably launch around 6000rpm and let go of the ebrake? sorry im noob. I had drag radials before that i launched at 4000 and it just spun.
i think i really need someone to show me this on an actual run or else i won't know if im doing it right. When do you let the ebrake go? right when you launch? when you slip the clutch, and let go, doesnt the car roll back anyways? or are you slipping the clutch the whole time until the light goes green?
