I can't see OEM being better than aftermarket. Just get some header wrap too.

I would take the JDM itr header over any DC header anyday.

^ Werd! ^

I've seen them "cheap" on inline four without the heat shield.

1) Holding the heat?
2) Are you talking about the US OEM ITR cast iron bitch "exhaust manifold", ie. "header".
3) A new JDM 98+ spec OEM header is upwards of $400 USD or more new
4) I had a DC 4-1 and it was better than the stock USDM, esp. for $180.

Any additional questions?

The USDM (& 95-97 JDM Header) header is still special you know. Of course polished stainless of the DC would be quite nice in the engine bay. It will cost you some ground clearance though...

I would never buy a NEW after market header under $500.

Yeah, looks like the JDM 4-1 is $519 plus heat shields.

So, what's your recommendation in the ~$200 USD price range?

New or used, 'cus a "new" one through ICB is upwards of $500 plus shipping.

Just saying....
Frankly I went with boost, and the cost was more than exponential.

good luck with that, unless it is dented all to hell.

this test was done some years ago, but the HT link has lost all of the dyno plots. Here is a recap of the original test. if you say the DC 4-1 is a piece of crap, you are an idiot who doesnt know what they are talking about. The JDM Stainless is no longer available, but you can still find the DC JDM 4-1 ceramic in the 275 price range.

This link goes to another forum, but it references the original test which was done here on HT:

Like I said, the original dyno plots are long gone, but you can see them on the other forum..

Wait for a used jdm 4-1. Got rid of mine for $300 with oem upper and fast line performance lower skid plate. Or save up and get a real header ;P
