Default Removing/Installing Valve Cover

So I have a 1997 B18B motor and I'm going to remove the valve cover soon. Are there any precautions I should be aware of when I remove & install it? I've done some research and some say that you should torque the bolts down to 7.2ft/lb in a sequence and such. Is there anything else I should know? Should I grab some Hondabond or can I just remove the valve cover and put it back on without any problems? Also, do the spark plugs come off if I remove them by hand or are there special tools required? Sorry for all the questions folks, I'm a big *** noob when it comes to this, but TIA!

Just make sure you dont stretch the gasket if it sticks to the head when pulling off. Pick up some hondabond or Permatex Grey gasket sealant to apply on the ends where the cam gears are and the areas noted in the helms. Torquing down the bolts should require a little more than a hand tight turn of the ratchet.

Spark plugs should come out with a spark plug socket, ratchet, and extension. Make sure to apply anti seize to the threads upon replacement.

But if there was already hondabond, or permatex, you will need a new razor blade to remove anything that suck on. Good luck.
Also, if you don't have a spark plug socket, You can use a 5/16 socket to loosen the plug, and a 3/8 rubber hose to retrieve the plugs. Vise versa when installing the plugs. Plugs are torqued to 15 Lb/ft. If you don't have a torque wrench, turn it to when its hand tight, and I think its a 1/4 turn after that point should be pretty close.

Thanks guys, it seems like an easy job, I just don't want to mess anything up. I take very good care of my car so I want to do everything right the first time. And yes I have a torque wrench in hand.
