Hey guys,
I've been getting really anxious to get my car running lately and with less cash than needed to get everything I need at the moment, I've started looking around at some stuff I've got lying around on some shelfs and stuff. A Turbo is one of the biggest things on my list at the moment. As I would love to go 40R, S366 or something else along those lines, Its just not in my budget for a few more months. At the moment however, I have a 62-1 lying around for my Turbo II RX7 project. I'd much rather have the honda running so, I've started robbing parts lately.
The 62-1 I have is a Turbonetics unit comprised of the following-
P-Trim exhaust wheel
A/R .96 undivided housing
.70 A/R intake housing.
The motor setup is as follows-
81.5mm Darton Sleeved LS
GSR head w/ RLZ's latest race port and valve job
Skunk2 Pro1's
9.5:1 wiseco
Crower Rods
Inline Pro Intake mani
Full-Race T4 Prostreet Rams horn
1000cc Precisions
I'd like to make 600 on the 62-1 but I'd also like a little input from you all. Is the .96 too big for the street considering this is a journal bearing turbo? Is it even worth trying without stepping down to a smaller housing? I know these turbo's are capable of well over 600 on 4.6 modulars, but will it make my numbers on my setup above?
Any input would be great. Thanks for checking my thread.

a .96ar open is big...it will suck on the street. a .96 divided with divided manifold is a different story.
Get like a .58 or .68 at the biggest if you want to run open.

That is very big for a 4 cyl street car, I have this same housing sitting in my garage for my T67 but I will never use it, going 1.15 Divided for my street car.

i'm in the same situation david, don't mean to hi-jack the thread but would a .82 A/R T4 35R be too much on a stock sleeve gsr with rods and pistons?
I agree with jesse, im running a open .96 with a 72mm dbb turbo. skunk pro1 cams full build etc etc... getting full spool around 7k, not very cool on the street.
i have a t4/t67 .96 rear housing also and i was wondering the same thing about the size of the rear housing but ill find out in the next couple of weeks.
