Help me identify this CLUTCH noise...
Car: '99 DX hatch
Problem: first 1" of clutch travel, there is a clicking noise coming form the tranny/clutch.
What is starting to go wrong?
I was thinking that maybe one of the springs are taking a crap... or throwout bearing is starting to go.
No rattling noise at all, just clicking noise on the first 1" of clutch travel.
Thanks.

I think I may be in the same boat.
Sometimes, when I'm not on the clutch, I can hear a small whine, like a belt is loose.
Then when I press the clutch, its a little crunchy..

If the pedal just squeaks when you press it a bit, then this is nothing to worry about. It is a spring on the pedel somewhere, not the clutch. Nothing to worry about unless the squeak really annoys you that much.
probably the throw out bearing. does it make any noise while the pedal is not pressed?
throwout bearing noise is made when you depress the clutch. If it whines when you press on the clutch then your throwout is bad, If it whines when you dont have your foot on the clutch then most likely your pilot bearing is bad. I think?
