Default car has a mind of its own.

Ok well i have had this problem for some time now and finely decided to post about it... Ive tried searching but i honesty suck at searching lol
anyways here it is

Now when im driving the car it will be running smooth with great response and hauling *** then say i decide to pass a car ill go to pass it and it will just start bogging and ill end having to be floored for the next few minutes before it starts running right again..(using passing a car as an example some times it just does it out of no where)

and another thing is when im going up a hill i always have to be completely floored in 2nd or 3rd and it bogs like crazy is this normal?(used to a 2.0L 88 accord and 2.7L 88 legend lol)...

also if i leave it idling for a few minutes the idle drops hella low then picks up then drops low again like its surging .. i sorta fixed this by adjusting the idle but now sometimes it will idle to high and i would really like to fix this the right way

the car is a 91 dx 5speed d15b2 176k miles mpfi swapped has a new head gasket new thermostat new rotor recent oil change newer coil new clutch gutted cat diy catch can

any help will be greatly appreciated

sounds like the plugs are fouling, who did the mpfi conversion? Changed the plugs recently? how does the cap look? How do the plug wires look?

Pull the plugs next time it does this(as soon as possible) and note the color.

The gasket should be ok, you might have a vacuume leak which could cause your idle issues. But generally a leak would be more consistant unless the leak seals when it gets hot.

But yeah, fuel filter should be changed around every 30k miles, but generally get changed every 1 owners lifetime. Go for that first, like 6 bux and 5 min work. Even if its not the problem it can often free up some response and in some instances even a few hp.

An easy test is to pop off the fuel filter (watch out for gas spraying) and simply blow through the fuel filter, it should feel like blowing through a large straw as opposed to blowing into a tight baloon. Fairly free flowing yet with some obvious resistance. Also make sure to drain all the gas out.

just changed it.. noticed more response and seems to run smoother BUT it still has the same problem just not as bad

ok so if i floor it it will bog WAY down (before i changed the filter it was acting like it was shutting off) and then catch and start going...
it does this if I'm cruising down the street and floor it or if im shifting and floor as soon as i dump the clutch

any other things to check.. cant really afford to buy anything else right now tho..

i usually go to kragen and pick up on any of their specials on fuel injector cleaner...the current specials are in the link below...as for the rotor button you should try and use a thicker screw since the one you are using might be stripped...!!!
