ECU Help
Hey have an ecu with no identifying marks on the case other than p30 hand written on it. Was wondering if there was a way to identify it by the actual board/layout. The guy that gave it to me said that it was a p30 that may have been chipped, so I am kind of stuck in the water untill I can figure out what the hell it is. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

02D011F0-1500 (11F0 for short) and 02D01720-1500 (1720 for short) are the most widley used Honda OBD-1 ecu's around. They're used in almost every SOHC & DOHC VTEC & NON-VTEC OBD1 vehicles, with exception to some LS and all GSR vehicles. These two boards are different in many ways but are similar when it comes to specific transistors which is the heart of this article.
The ECU is chipped, if you look in the bottom right hand corner see the chip labeled SST, thats a chip that you can reburn maps on for different motor setups. However it kind of looks like the soldered the chip to the board directly instead of using a cradle.
Here is an example.

The little blue thing under the chip is a cradle, which is usually soldered to the board and then there is a little handle so you can remove the chip easily without breaking any pins.
So all in all, the person was right it is chipped.

cool, yea i thought that it was based on the diagram in the write up. second question, is there an easy way to either burn the stock maps on the aftermarket chip or just get a stock chip for one? basically i have a chipped ecu and want it to have the stock maps on it. should i just get a new ecu or have this one reprogrammed?
it apears that ur chip isnt actually soldered directly to the board, it has a socket there...
also, normally if u want to return acomputer to the stock map u can just cut the j1 jumper that sits right obove the chip, but on urs, taht would be a bad idea, considering urs apears to have been a non-vtec ecu that was converted to vtec (see the j10, ic14 and q101 items have a flashier solder than the rest, and j10 apears to have a weak solder joint)...
so ur best bet is to just get on phearable or xenocron or pm me and i (or any of the people listed) can burn u a map for whatever motor u have in the car, and it will run just like stock!
